The Tōhoku region (東北地方, Tōhoku-chihō) consists of the northeastern portion of Honshu, the largest island of Japan.
Ichinoseki (一関市, Ichinoseki-shi) is a city located in Iwate Prefecture, in the Tohoku region of northern Japan. As of September 1, 2015, the city had a population of 120,490 and a population density of 95.9 persons per km2. It is currently the second largest city by population in the prefecture, after Morioka.
