Itobi is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. Itobi's population in 2004 was 7,816 and its area is 139.98 km². Its elevation is 658m. The name Itobi derives from the Tupian language. It means: "Água corrente verde", like "Rio Verde" (or Green River). Itobi is denominated, by people, as "The Princess of the Green River"; in Portuguese, "Princesa do Rio Verde".
