Borgarfjörður (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈpɔrkar̥ˌfjœrðʏr̥]) is a fjord in the west of Iceland near the town of Borgarnes. Although the waters of Borgarfjörður appear calm, the fjord has significant undercurrents and shallows.
