John F. Kennedy High School is a public 4–year high school located in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the south–west side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Operated by Chicago Public Schools, Kennedy opened in 1963. The school is named in honor of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy (1917–1963). Kennedy is an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) school. Since 2000, Kennedy has been apart of the International Baccalaureate Program.
