Beanblossom, also spelled Bean Blossom, is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township, Brown County, Indiana. The town was named for the nearby Beanblossom Creek, which was in turn named for a 19th century settler whose surname was Beanblossom, who had once nearly drowned in its surging water. After almost dying, Beanblossom vowed revenge on the creek. He built a cabin nearby from which he could keep an eye on the creek in case it tried to drown him again. His descendants continued to live in that cabin until recently, eventually overcoming their fear of the creek by building a covered bridge across it.
