The W. H. Sammis Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant in Stratton, Ohio, USA. The plant, operated by FirstEnergy, was the subject of a Clean Air Act case by the Environmental Protection Agency filed in 1999. Current renovations and construction are being designed and managed by Bechtel Power, one of the world's largest and most successful engineering firms. Block 7 includes one of the tallest chimneys in the world (305 m), which was built in 1970. The power plant includes a tunnel for State Route 7, a four-lane freeway.
