Channel Islands Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Ventura County, California, United States consisting of two unincorporated neighborhoods along the coastal edge of the Oxnard Plain: Hollywood Beach and Silver Strand Beach. The CDP name is after the Channel Islands Beach Community Services District that provides local utilities services. A densely populated narrow 1.3-mile-long strip (2.1 km) lying outside the corporate boundaries of Oxnard and Port Hueneme, the area was subdivided in the mid 1920s using the glamor of Hollywood to sell lots since the sand dunes had been used for movies. The special district has an elected Board of Directors.
