Morrisania (/mɒrɨˈseɪniə/ morr-ə-SAY-nee-ə) is the historical name for the South Bronx in New York City, New York. The name derives from the powerful and aristocratic Morris family, who at one time owned all of the Manor of Morrisania as well as much of New Jersey.
