Enfield is a town in Halifax County, North Carolina, and was founded in 1740. As of the 2010 United States Census, the town’s population was 2,532, which reflects an increase of almost 8% from the population of 2,347 at the 2000 census. It is the oldest town in Halifax County, and it was once the world’s largest raw peanut market.
