The Baltimore Museum of Art, located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, is an art museum that was founded in 1914. Its main building was built in 1929, in the "Roman Temple" architectural style, under the design of famous architect John Russell Pope. The Museum is home to an internationally renowned collection of 19th-century and early 20th-century, modern, and contemporary art. Founded in 1914, as the Municipal Art Museum with a single painting, the B.M.A. today has over 90,000 works of art—including the largest holding of works by Henri Matisse in the world.
