Poquott is a village in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The official Poquott website can be accessed at www.villageofpoquott.com. The population was 953 at the 2010 census. The village is located within the Town of Brookhaven, on the North Shore of Long Island, and is officially known as the Incorporated Village of Poquott. Poquott was founded by European settlers in 1659. The peninsula came to be known as “George’s Neck”, and was developed mostly as farmland.
