Cuyahoga County (/ˌk.əˈhɒɡə/ or /ˌk.əˈhɡə/ KY-u-HAW-gə or KY-u-HOH-gə) is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,280,122, making it the most populous county in Ohio. Its county seat is Cleveland. The Census 2014 figures show a population of 1,259,828. The county is named after the Iroquoian word Cuyahoga, which means 'crooked river'.
