The Oliver Bridge was constructed across the Saint Louis River in 1916 by the Interstate Transfer Railway Company, a Wisconsin corporation, under special federal authorization from the 60th United States Congress (Session I, Chapter 31, February 20, 1908). It connects the Gary – New Duluth neighborhood, part of the city of Duluth, Minnesota with the village of Oliver, Wisconsin across the Saint Louis River.
