Downtown Cleveland is the central business district of the City of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, United States. It is the economic and symbolic center of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Combined Statistical Area, which holds a regional population of 3.5 million. Reinvestment in the area in the mid-1990s spurred a rebirth that continues to this day, with over $4.5 billion in residential and commercial developments in the 2010s. In the 2010 Census, the population of Downtown Cleveland totaled 11,693, growing from 9,599 in 2000 and 7,261 in 1990. It had the largest percent population growth for a neighborhood the city of Cleveland in the 2010 Census and continues to be the most populated downtown in the state of Ohio.
