Freeport is a borough in Armstrong County in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania; it is situated along the Allegheny River in the southwest corner of the county. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 Census. Freeport received its name from David Todd, who declared it to be a free-port where no man would be charged to tie up rafts, boats, or barges.
