The Washington Athletic Club stands at 1325 6th Avenue, at Union Street, in downtown Seattle, on the same block as the 5th Avenue Theatre. The WAC won its sixth consecutive 5 Star Platinum Club of America award in 2012 and was named the best athletic club in Washington and one of the top four nationally. The 21-story WAC clubhouse opened in December 1930, and the club marks its 84th anniversary in 2013. The clubhouse was designed in the art deco style by Seattle architect Sherwood D.
