Highland Tech Charter School is a standards based school in Anchorage, Alaska in the Anchorage School District. It is a charter school dedicated to the standards based model. It is the first standards based school in the Anchorage School District (ASD) and had its first graduating class on May 31, 2006. Dr. Ginger L. Blackmon joined the Highland Tech staff in 2009 as its current principal. Ms. Laura Hilger was named as the new Assistant Principal in May 2010, replacing Ms. Rebecca Midles who will be continuing her relationship with Highland Tech through her work with the Re-Inventing School Coalition. In 2012, Highland Tech was one of only 8 U.S. schools (99 worldwide) inducted to Microsoft's Innovative Pathfinder and Mentor Schools program.
