The Cilicia earthquake in 1268 was a tremendous earthquake in which over 60,000 people perished. The earthquake occurred in the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia, in southern Asia Minor.
Aladağ is a village in Tarsus district of Mersin Province, Turkey. At 36°05′N 34°58′E it is situated in Çukurova (Cilicia of the antiquity) plains to the east of Turkish state highway D.750. The distance to Tarsus is 20 kilometres (12 mi) and the distance to Mersin is 48 kilometres (30 mi).
