Tell Tamer (Arabic: تل تمر‎, Syriac: ܬܠ ܬܡܪ, Kurdish: Girê Xurma) is a town in northwestern Syria, administratively part of the al-Hasakah Governorate, located 40 km north of the city of al-Hasakah. Settled in the 1930s by Iraqi Assyrian refugees fleeing the Simele Massacre in Iraq, by the 1960s the village had grown into a town. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Tell Tamer had a population of 7,285 in the 2004 census.
