The Asir mountains (Arabic: عسير‎ ʿsyr Arabic pronunciation: [ʕsiːr] "difficult") is a mountainous region in southwestern Saudi Arabia running parallel to the Red Sea. It comprises areas in Asir within Saudi Arabia, however it also generally includes areas near the Yemen border.
