Khandyga (Russian: Хандыга; Yakut: Хаандыга) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Tomponsky District in the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the northeast corner of the Aldan River, where the river turns from north to west, the Kolyma Highway, 380 kilometers (240 mi) northeast of Yakutsk, the capital of the republic.
