Karabash (Russian: Караба́ш; Tatar Cyrillic: Карабаш, Latin: Qarabaş) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Bugulminsky District of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, located 27 kilometers (17 mi) northwest of Bugulma, the administrative center of the district, at the confluence of the Zay and Stepnoy Zay Rivers. Population: 5,005 (2010 Census); 5,139 (2002 Census); 4,272 (1989 Census).
