Chunsky District (Russian: Чунский райо́н) is an administrative district, one of the thirty-three in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Chunsky Municipal District. The area of the district is 25,790 square kilometers (9,960 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Chunsky. Population: 36,516 (2010 Census); 41,829 (2002 Census); 50,037 (1989 Census).[10] The population of the administrative center accounts for 41.1% of the district's total population.
