Volzhsky District (Russian: Во́лжский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Samara Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,481 square kilometers (958 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the city of Samara (which is not administratively a part of the district). Population: 83,377 (2010 Census); 77,621 (2002 Census);[10] 64,974 (1989 Census).[11]
