Tatsinskaya Airfield
The Tatsinskaya Airfield was the main airfield used by the German Wehrmacht during the Battle of Stalingrad to supply the encircled 6th Army from outside.
Tatsinsky District (Russian: Таци́нский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,411 square kilometers (931 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a stanitsa) of Tatsinskaya. Population: 38,464 (2010 Census); 43,251 (2002 Census); 43,306 (1989 Census). The population of Tatsinskaya accounts for 26.0% of the district's total population.
