Novospassky District (Russian: Новоспа́сский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,301.1 square kilometers (502.4 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Novospasskoye. Population: 22,478 (2010 Census); 23,852 (2002 Census); 22,734 (1989 Census). The population of Novospasskoye accounts for 49.3% of the district's total population.
