The Rio Mondego (Portuguese pronunciation: [mõˈdeɡu]; English language: Mondego River) is the longest river located exclusively in Portuguese territory. It has its source in Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain range in mainland Portugal (i.e. except the Portuguese islands).
