Tanem is a village in the municipality of Klæbu in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Nidelva river approximately 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) west of the village and municipal centre of Klæbu. The 0.46-square-kilometre (110-acre) village has a population (2013) is 1,247. The population density is 2,711 inhabitants per square kilometre (7,020/sq mi). Tanem's population has grown the last ten years, with almost a doubling in the number of houses. Most of the residents of Tanem commute to Trondheim to work.
