Arivechi is both a town and a municipality in the Mexican state of Sonora. It is located in the east of Sonora at 28°55'"N 109°11'"W, at an elevation of 556 meters. It has boundaries in the north, east, and south with the municipality of Sahuaripa and in the west with Bacanora. The area of the municipality (urban and rural) is 738.8 square kilometers and the population was 1,280 inhabitants (2005), 866 of whom resided in the municipal seat.
