Mangyongdae-guyok or Man'gyŏngdae District (만경대구역) is one of the 19 guyŏk that constitute Pyongyang, North Korea. It began as a village, Mangyongdae-ri, South Pyongan Province and became a district of Pyongyang in September of 1959. The area is surrounded by several hills, the highest one named Mangyong (Ten thousand views) Hill because one can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding scenic landscape, and the village at its foot is called Mangyongdae. It extends to the west past the Sunhwa River, to Kangso-gun. Aside from Chilgol and Oryu-ri (which is a military area), the district is divided between Kwangbok (Restoration) Street and Chongchun (Youth) Street.
