Bishapur (Middle Persian: Bay-Šāpūr; Persian: بیشاپور‎, Bishâpûr) was an ancient city in Iran on the ancient road between Persis and Elam. The road linked the Sassanid capitals Estakhr (very close to Persepolis) and Ctesiphon.
