Unjalur is a panchayat town situated in Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated about 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Erode, a major railway junction in the Southern division of the Indian Railway and 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Kodumudi, which is well known for the 'Thrimurthy Kovil' or a temple dedicated to the divine trinity- Bramha, Vishnu and Shiva. The town is situated on the banks of the river Kaveri and connected strategically both by road and rail.
