Hinganghat is a taluka (administrative division) and town in Wardha district in the Indian state Maharashtra. The city is administered by a municipal council and is located about 34 km (21 mi) from Wardha and 75 km (47 mi) from Maharashtra’s second capital Nagpur. Hinganghat is surrounded on two sides by the Vena River, which provides natural resources. National Highway 7, a part of the North-South Corridor, passes through the city. Hinganghat is located in the fertile Wardha Valley; it was historically a centre of the Indian cotton trade. The municipality of Hinganghat comprises about 76 villages and has a significant Sindhi population.
