Madikeri is a hill station town in Karnataka state, India. Also known as Mercara, it is the headquarters of the district of Kodagu (also called Coorg).

It is a small township between Madikeri and Kushalnagar on the Mangalore Mysore state highway. Sunday is the market day for Suntikoppa, on which day the neighboring people from villages come to shop for the week's supplies. The main localities of Suntikoppa are Pump House, Aparand badavane, 1st Block, Maduramma Badavane, Ulugulli Badavane, Rama Badavane, Guddappa Badavane and Gaddehalla. Nearest Villages are Kodagara Halli, Kambibaane, 7th Hosakote, Naakoor, Garagandoor, Kedakkal, Kadlemane etc. St Antony’s School, St Mary’s English Medium School and Govt Primary and High School and Govt Pre University College are the major educational institutes in Suntikoppa Town. Apart from these there are few other schools nearby which come under the township like Shanthinikethan School, Naada High School Kodagarahalli etc. There’s also a school run by the Tata coffee Limited called “Swastha” for the Mentally Challenged Children.
