The Kanara or Canara region, which is also known as Coastal Karnataka, comprises three coastal districts of Karnataka, namely Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod of Kerala in southwestern India. Kanara forms the southern part of the Konkan coast. The length of this region from north to south is around 300 kilometres (190 mi) and width varies from 30 to 110 kilometres (19 to 68 mi).
