Kempegowda International Airport (IATA: BLR, ICAO: VOBL) is an international airport serving the Indian city of Bengaluru. It is 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) south of Devanahalli and is 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the central business district of Bengaluru, (30 kilometres (19 mi) from the Bangalore City Railway Station) and covers 4,700 acres (1,900 ha). It replaced the HAL airport in 2008. For the Fiscal year 2014-15, it is South India's most and third busiest airport in the country in overall passenger traffic (15.24 million) after Delhi and Mumbai. The airport handled 19.3 per cent more passengers as compared to 2013-14, with 21.4 percent growth from domestic and 11.2 percent growth from international flights.
