Gorski Kotar (Croatian: Gorski kotar, pronounced [ɡǒrskiː kôtaːr]; English: Mountain District) is the mountainous region in Croatia between Karlovac and Rijeka. Because 63% of its surface is forested it is popularly called the green lungs of Croatia or Croatian Switzerland.
