BARB Search & Rescue (formed as the Burnham Area Rescue Boat in 1992) is a registered charity that operates two life-saving rescue hovercrafts and an inshore rescue boat in the Bridgwater Bay area. BARB Search & Rescue is a voluntary search and rescue service operating from a base at Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, in England. It mainly operates hovercraft, which have been used to rescue people, animals and vehicles from the mudflats of the Bristol Channel, but also has a small inshore rescue boat.
