The 2006 Spanish Grand Prix (formally the XLVIII Gran Premio Telefónica de España) was a Formula One motor race held on 14 May 2006 at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. It was the sixth round of the 2006 Formula One season. The race, contested over 66 laps, was won by Fernando Alonso for the Renault team, from a pole position start.
