The Battle of Sievershausen occurred on 9 July 1553 in Sievershausen (today part of Lehrte in present-day Germany), between the troops of Albrecht of Brandenburg-Kulmbach and those of the Protestant Schmalkaldic League. 4,000 soldiers were killed, including the Protestant commander, Maurice, Elector of Saxony.
