Ordos (Mongolian: ᠣᠷᠳᠣᠰ ᠬᠣᠲᠠ Ordos qota; Chinese: 鄂尔多斯市) is one of the twelve major subdivisions of Inner Mongolia, People's Republic of China. It is within the Ordos Loop of the Yellow River. Although mainly rural, Ordos is administered as a prefecture-level city. The administrative seat is at Dongsheng which had a population of 582,544 inhabitants at the 2010 census.
