Nova Lima is a municipality of circa 87,000 people located circa 20 to the south-east of Belo Horizonte, the capital of the south-east Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Historically, the city was known as known as Campos de Congonhas, Congonhas de Sabará and until 1923 as Villa Nova de Lima.
