Emu Plains railway station is located on the Main Western line in the western Sydney suburb of Emu Plains. It is served by the T1 Western line and Blue Mountains Line, and is considered the terminus of the Western Line although many trains terminate at the previous station of Penrith. The station opened in 1868, moving to its present site in 1884. It consist of two side platforms, and two sets of points at the eastern end of the station allow 'down' trains (heading away from Sydney) to terminate at either platform and return to the city.
