Adams County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,343. The county seat is Hettinger. The county was created on April 17, 1907 and organized one week later. It was named after John Quincy Adams (1848 – 1919), a railroad official for the Milwaukee Road Railroad and distant relative of U.S.
