Lincoln County is a county located in the State of West Virginia. Created in 1867, the county was named for Abraham Lincoln. Hamlin, its seat of government, was established in 1853 and named for Leonidas Lent Hamline, a Methodist bishop. The county is probably best known as the birthplace of Chuck Yeager.
