Tyson Research Center is a 2,000-acre (8.1 km²) field station owned and operated by Washington University in St. Louis in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area east of Eureka. The area was used as a munitions storage area during World War II and was purchased in 1968. It is part of the Henry Shaw Ozark Corridor which consists of over 8,000 acres (32 km²) of protected lands.
