Stol is the highest mountain of the Karawanks, located on the border of Austria and Slovenia. It is known as Hochstuhl in German (meaning 'High Chair'), or Veliki Stol (which is Slovenian for 'Great Chair') and has an elevation of 2,236 m (7,336 ft). The first ascent of the mountain was made in 1794 by Carniolan Count Franz von Hohenwart.
