Anshan (Persian: انشان‎ Anšan, modern Tall-i Malyan), northwest of Shiraz, in the Beyza / Ramjerd plain, in the province of Fars in the Zagros mountains, southwestern Iran, was one of the early capitals of Elam from the 3rd millennium BC, and later Persia from the 7th century BC.
