Sasaram (Hindi: सासाराम, Urdu: سسرام‎), sometimes also spelled as Sasseram or Sahasram or Sahastrabahuparshuram, is the administrative headquarters of the Rohtas district in the Indian state of Bihar.Rohtas, a historical place, was created as District in the year 1972 carved out of the district of Sahabad.
