Dharni is the largest village in Dharni sub-division with 6345 houses and a population of 32,517 persons according to 2011 Census. It is the headquarters of Dharni tehsil and forms the terminus of the high road through the hills from Paratwada to Burhanpur. It is 97 km (60 mi) distant from Paratwada and 148 km (92 mi) from Amravati.
